What Is The Express Entry System?

Canada Express Entry is the fastest and most popular pathway for skilled immigrants to settle permanently in Canada. The express entry program is an online point-based system used for processing the application of candidates who wish to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency.

Candidates qualifying for the following programs are eligible to apply under the Express Entry Program:

• Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
• Federal Skilled Trades (FSTW)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

To be eligible for the Express Entry program, the applicant must qualify for one of the economic immigration programs. While applying for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, a candidate needs to score at least 67 out of 100 points, based on six selection factors. Eligible candidates are then ranked against one another in the Express Entry pool, based on a variety of selection factors like age, education, work experience, language etc.

What Are The Requirements For Canada Express Entry?

There are different requirements for each of the programs. To apply under the Express Entry program as a skilled worker, a candidate must:

• Have worked as a skilled worker, for at least one year, in the last ten years, of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience
• A minimum of CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) seven in either English or French
• Have a post-secondary education, assessed against Canadian standards with an Educational Credential Assessment

These are the minimum requirements; however, candidates with better profiles have higher chances of getting selected from the Express Entry pool.
