Canada Provincial Nominee Program
The Canadian Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are pathways to Canadian permanent residence for individuals who intend to settle in a Canadian province or territory.
Under the Provincial Nominee programs, the government of Canada allows the provinces and territories of Canada to nominate skilled professionals, workers in skilled trades, and candidates with Canadian experience to live, work and settle in the participating provinces & territories. As per the PNPs, the participating provinces have a pact with the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and let them select their applicants with desired requirements.
Unlike other provinces, Quebec has its pre-defined selection criteria. The PNPs accommodates potential immigrants to file their petition through a specific province or territory and the province gets the right to nominate the individuals via the provincial Nomination program.
Moreover, some provinces also have skilled immigration agreements catering to the requirement of recruiters and the capital investment requirements of each region. Hence several provinces have also acquired their business immigration schemes motivating experienced business professionals to settle in these provinces.

Many provinces & territories updated their PNP streams, after the launch of the Express Entry Program, to align it with Express Entry. This means that some PNPs might require an applicant to have an existing Express Entry profile that meets their eligibility requirements.
When nominated through a PNP aligned with the Express Entry, the candidate gets an additional 600 points as per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which increases the chances of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian PR in the next Express Entry draw.
